In this sector, you'll find all of our real estate job listings. We're not listing for the real estate agents who helped you buy or sell a house - these listings are for financial services professionals who will research and invest in the real estate sector or advise clients about real estate investments.

Careers in real estate finance can be found within a variety of financial institutions, including commercial banks, investment banks, asset management firms, private equity firms, consultancies and real estate companies.

Investment banks hire real estate professionals to satisfy many different positions. These can include M&A bankers who focus on the real estate sector, capital markets bankers with comprehension of the fundraising requirements of real estate companies that want to invest in the debt and equity markets and equity researchers who have an understanding of real estate stock analysis.

Commercial banks seek property finance teams to analyze and manage large commercial real estate loans. Real estate debt managers, for instance, track a portfolio of loans, find any risk factors for loan quality and develop strategies for improving poorly performing loans. They provide credit papers for approval and meet with valuers, lawyers, lenders and investors to execute strategies. Many commercial banks at present hire "workout" teams to work to improve non-performing real estate loans.

Asset management firms also recruit real estate investments professionals to handle their real estate funds. Product structuring managers, as an example, create new real estate products to meet both the commercial objectives of the business and those of the funds' target investors. These positions also seek opportunities to expand existing funds and develop an extensive knowledge of regulatory change and how it affects the real estate industry.

Some private equity funds also employ real estate professionals to handle buy-outs of real estate companies and to manage investments in real estate. These jobs may include finding and assessing new investment opportunities in real estate, finding prospective real estate target companies and meeting with entrepreneurs, company management and advisors to discuss and close real estate transactions. Private equity firms may also hire real estate investment bankers.

Commercial real estate companies enable you to get closer to current action in the property sector. These usually provide facility management and specialist real estate investment services. Though they hire employees in engineering, maintenance or other non-financial areas of the business, they also offer many financial real estate jobs, for positions like brokers, project managers, financial analysts, finance managers and accountants.

Consultancy firms also have departments for real estate advisory with clients such as banks, fund managers, institutional investors, property companies, developers and occupiers. These advisory positions help to create effective funding strategies for transactions and businesses by finding funders and investors and negotiating terms.
